This is the Eddystone Point Light House and is part of the network of navigational aides around the coast. It was established in 1889 and was originally a manned lighthouse with some houses for the staff nearby. It is located in the Bay of Fires Conservation Area.

I took the chance on the weekend to visit the Bay of Fires. The weather was shocking with gale force winds so i didn’t stay long at all which is a shame as its a beautiful part of the world and is Lonely Planet’s world’s best travel destination for 2009.
