A DHC-4 Caribou flys past just a few minutes ago at Dawn as part of Battle of Bicheno Day commemorating the battle of the same name. It was a fierce battle with a small force of German Paratroops landing from a submarine and being fought off by local soldiers who were under manned and under armed.
