Clear Blue

Yes the water really is that color! This shot is at the Northern End of the Friendly beaches.
The Rocks of the Freycinet Peninsula are mainly granite which has a high quartz (silicon) content but few of the minerals that discolour water and sand.
Over aeons the erosion of local granite has supplied a large amount of pure silica rich sand. Combine this with clear, sediment free water and the clarity you see is produced/
